Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you use Hair Mentor AI. Please read them before relying on anything the app tells you. Effective: 4 September 2026.

Who provides the app

Hannah Stapling trading as Hair Mentor AI. Hair Mentor AI is not a limited company or registered company.

Your account

You need an account to use the app. Keep your sign-in details secure, use accurate information, and do not share your account with anyone else. You must be 16 or over.

Educational purpose

Hair Mentor AI provides hairdressing education, practice tools and professional support. It is a learning aid. It is not a qualification, an awarding body, an assessment, or a substitute for your training provider, educator or workplace supervision.

AI Mentor limitations

AI Mentor generates responses and can be incomplete or wrong. It does not see the hair, cannot carry out tests, and does not know your client. It never replaces:

  • a physical examination and full in-person consultation;
  • the manufacturer's instructions for any product;
  • required tests such as skin, elasticity, porosity or incompatibility testing;
  • your salon's procedures and health & safety requirements.

Always verify professional decisions against those sources before carrying out a service.

Responsibility for chemical and salon services

You are responsible for every service you perform. Chemical services — colour, lightening, perming, straightening, relaxing and smoothing — carry real risk. You must work within your competence, follow manufacturer instructions and complete the required tests. Nothing in this app authorises you to perform a service you are not trained, insured or supervised to perform.

External and third-party content

Some lessons link to or embed videos hosted by third parties such as YouTube and Facebook. That content belongs to the original creators and platforms; we do not own or produce it, and their terms apply when you watch. Brand names are used for educational reference only and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

Client records you create

If you use the client tools, you are responsible for the accuracy of what you record, for having the client's agreement, and for handling their information in line with your own obligations.

Subscriptions and paid content

Some features are, or may become, part of a paid Hair Mentor Pro tier. Where paid access is offered, the price, billing period and renewal terms will be shown before you buy. Purchases made through an app store are subject to that store's payment, renewal and refund rules; purchases made on the web are subject to the terms shown at checkout. Access to paid features ends when the subscription ends.

Intellectual property

The Hair Mentor AI name, design, lessons, diagrams, quizzes and written content belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own learning and salon practice. You may not copy, resell, republish or use them to build a competing product or training course without written permission.

Content you enter, such as your notes and client records, remains yours.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • misuse, disrupt or attempt to break the security of the app;
  • scrape, bulk-export or automate access to lesson content or the AI;
  • upload unlawful, harmful or infringing material, or images of anyone without their agreement;
  • use the app to give advice you are not competent to give, or to impersonate anyone.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or puts other users, clients or the service at risk. You can close your account at any time — see account deletion.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the app available and accurate, but content and features may change, and the service may be interrupted for maintenance. We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page.

Liability

The app is provided for education and professional support. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from services you carry out, decisions you make, client outcomes, or reliance on AI-generated content without verifying it against manufacturer instructions and required testing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Effective date: 4 September 2026.
