A business/postal address is not yet confirmed and will be added here before any app store submission.

• Account data — your email address and sign-in identifier, including where you sign in with Google.
• Profile and learning preferences — your name if you give it, salon name, training level and personalisation settings.
• Your mobile number (optional) — if you choose to give it, we store it against your account so we can contact you about your account and so you can later switch on messaging features you choose to connect, such as WhatsApp. Giving us your number is not agreement to receive WhatsApp messages: that is a separate choice, it is off by default, and WhatsApp messaging is not connected yet. Your number is private to your account, never shown to other users and never sold or shared for marketing.
• Learning activity — lessons opened, completions, quiz answers and scores, and progress towards each subject.
• AI Mentor interactions — the questions you ask, the answers returned and, if you turn personalisation on, short learning memory notes such as topics you are working on.
• Optional client records — if you choose to use the client tools: client name and contact details you enter, consultations, hair analyses, service history, formulations, test records, appointments and notes.
• Optional photos — client or hair-analysis images you upload, stored privately against your account.
• Messaging and reminder settings — WhatsApp and reminder preferences and message templates you save. Messages are only sent when you choose to send them.
• Basic usage and technical data — limited event and error information used to keep the app working and to improve it.

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To deliver lessons, quizzes, progress tracking and personalised teaching at your level.
• To answer your AI Mentor questions and make them relevant to what you are learning.
• To store the client and consultation records you choose to create, so you can refer back to them.
• To operate optional reminders and messaging that you trigger.
• To diagnose faults, prevent abuse and improve the product.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your client records for advertising.

If you record information about salon clients, you are responsible for having their agreement to do so and for following your salon's own data handling rules. Only enter what you genuinely need. Client records are private to your account and are not shared with other users.

Data is held in a managed cloud database and file storage with access controls that restrict records to the account that owns them. Access is protected by your sign-in, connections are encrypted in transit, and photos are served through short-lived private links rather than public URLs.

No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps.

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is open. Client records stay until you delete them or delete your account. When you delete your account we remove your app data as described on the account deletion page. Limited records may be retained for a short period where we are required to for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons.

We use third-party providers to run the app: cloud hosting, a managed database, authentication and file storage, an AI model provider that processes your AI Mentor questions, and error/usage diagnostics. Some lessons link to videos hosted on external platforms such as YouTube and Facebook; those platforms apply their own privacy terms when you watch.

These providers process data on our instructions. Some may operate outside the UK/EEA, in which case transfers rely on the safeguards those providers offer.

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can edit most of your information directly in the app, turn personalisation off, clear your learning memory, and delete your account.

You also have the right to complain to your national data protection regulator.

Hair Mentor AI is intended for hairdressing learners and professionals aged 16 or over. It is not designed for children. If you believe a younger person has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

You can delete your account and its data at any time from Profile inside the app, or read the full process on the account deletion page.
